Song in my head:
"Boooooooooooh-bah, boooooooooooh-bah,
booh-bah-boo..."
- Bohbah - PBS Kids -
Hey, I gotta be true to the art. I said I'd tell you what song is in my head and that was it, this morning. Boohbah
is a toddler show by the makers of Teletubbies. Basically it's teletubbies on acid...this is what happens when
you get a kid. For those of you who don't know...I got a kid.
A real cute kid.
To answer Stephen Johnson's comment about
my appreciating "The White Stripes." When I said I haven't enjoyed an album like this since I first heard
the Beatles, "White Album." Doesn't mean that The Stripes album is as good or better, it just means
at the time when I first heard the White Album it was a refreshing change over what was popular at the time. In
this case it was the disco.
Most of today's urban hippity hop Music is just as annoying as disco was back in the 70's. So hearing a raw sounding
rock album in the midst of the crap thats popular these days is just as refreshing as hearing the White Album in
the midst of a Bee Gee craving society.
So, as usual, Stephen Johnson failed to fully comprehend what he was commenting about, which all goes to prove
that he has a big fat head.
So I get this email from "Chauncey":
"i work at home depot in california, and i agree it sucks hard cocks,
im in lumber and its LAME ASS no coverage in the departments, lame ass hours it goes on and on
i gotta work 2-11 on tues, what the hell is up with that shit?????????"
Chauncey:
Thanks for taking the time to read some of the archived
"Ask Bob's." For those who don't know, he's commenting on my bad day on 08/07/03.
I guess I took it personally when I was treated like shit at Home Depot. Turns out, I was treated like shit, because
the people who work for Home Depot are treated like shit...as we all know, shit flows down hill.
So I thought I'd give 'em another chance and went to the Home Depot in North Omaha (where most other Blacks live)
and I asked a brother for help with an outdoor faucet and he was very helpful and nice, which I really appreciated
because I hadn't researched the repair properly, but with the extra help I was able to pull it off.
Then I went back (about an extra 5 miles out of my way) to buy a ladder, once again, I was treated like a human...not
as nice as the last time, but at least I felt human.
Then I decide to replace the indoor door knobs and registers in my house. This time I went to the Home Depot on 156th and Maple street in Omaha, close
to my house (where blacks don't live). What do you thnk happened?
I patiently waited while "old man whitey" helped everyone but me. He wouldn't help me until there was
no one else to help. Even people who came in after me were helped first. I really wanted some advice, because
I wanted heavy quality door knobs, but the best I could get out of him was a finger pointed toward the isle of
the product.
I was right the first time...everyday IS fuck-you day at Home Depot at 156th
and Maple in Omaha, NE.
And now you know!
