Ask Bob!
"And they tell me...over and over and over again, you don't believe, we're on the eve of destruction." - Barry McGuire - Michael from Canada writes: Sure, I get it, two species developing on one planet. That's groovy, baby, but what's it all mean? Michael: It all boils down to a dream I had a many years ago. The end of the world will begin with a fallen satellite. After this weekend I relived the dream in my head, with the space shuttle re-entry and Bush's new war and all. But I came to the conclusion that it wasn't a space shuttle (may they rest in peace), that starts it...it's definitely a satellite or possibly a space station. The beginning of the end starts with this fallen object. I don't know who does it or if it's just an accident, but for some reason this satellite sparks the war to end all wars. I saw it all from my room, on TV. In this war, the humans of the old era war against each other, on a global scale, while the humans of the new era simply observe. No non-violent humans from the new era, get involved although many are killed. The peaceful humans can identify each other, but the old era humans can't, so they try to kill pretty much everyone. In the end times a special person gains the trust of all the new era humans and is called the "Enlightened One." His judgment is trusted like the word of God. He visited my city and walked the streets letting everyone know that everything will be all right, and there is nothing to worry about. I saw him from my car. Some think he is God, some think he is Jesus, some think he is Mohammed, but in reality he is all things good to all good people. He shows us how all religions are right and wrong at the same time. When the war is finished, the Enlightened One goes from continent to continent, country to country, house to house to see if any of the old era humans are left, but never finds any. No one really knows what he'd do if he found one, but he looks for them just the same. The dead in the world is countless, and to prevent disease, all the bodies are piled up at a specified location in each community and burned each night. Survival in a greed less, violent-less society has its up and it's downs. In a way, we almost depended on the old era humans to do the dirty work, but things seem to work out Ok. After a few years, the bodies are still being burned as more are always found beneath the many fallen buildings. It seems like it will never stop. Then one day it happens. The Enlightened One finds a four year old child from the old era. His parents have died and his new parents give him up to the enlightened one with great grief, but without a struggle. I saw it all happen from my window. One night, The Enlightened One took him from his house and carried him toward a grass field. On his left, many have gathered to see what he would do. They didn't want any more old-era humans, but their compassion for the child prevented them from wanting any harm...they would accept his fate. As "The One" continued to walk it seemed that he was approaching a pile of burning bodies that was just ahead and toward his right. As he walked closer, the sun of a new dawn began to creep over the horizon. From my view, the sun conquered the light of the burning bodies. From my view, The Enlightened One with the child seemed to be walking right into the sun. As they came closer and closer to the flames, the sun became brighter and brighter until I could no longer see them. And now you know! COMING NEXT: I decide to pull my head out!
