Ask Bob!
"I can taste you in my lips, and smell you in my clothes..." - The Butthole Surfers -- This is the time that we check my fall preview, predictions and see if they stunk. Let's see...in October (my preview was a little late) my first prediction was that, an episode of "Law and Order" and "UC Undercover" would feature a crime that was committed. Then the main characters would solve the crime by the end of the show. Yep, it happened just as I predicted. "Men, Woman and Dogs," was a show about guys trying to pick up girls at parks. Well that was just a great idea. It went down-under right from the word go! Not an Australian down-under...more of a just flushed down the toilet down-under. That "Bob Patterson" show went off as fast as it came. The Seinfeld curse gives us a double whammy as "The Tick" is scheduled to go off the air too. Actually "The Tick" turned out to be better than I thought...it was funny! Too funny for TV I'm afraid. Looks like we also had to say good-bye to "Danny"...just as predicted. If you never saw "Danny" and don't know what it's about, I'm not going to tell you. Consider yourself lucky. The new Star Trek show, "Enterprise" and "Smallville," are both big hits just as expected. But before my head gets too big, I also thought "Ellen" would be successful, but it's not...least not that I know of. What surprises me the most is the fact that the "Change of Heart" show is still on the air! They get a couple, and use other people to make them jealous and mad at each other. I figured someone would have gone into a jealous rage and killed everyone on the set, by the second show. But it never happened. Probably just a matter of time. What's coming up? They got "The Chamber" and "The Chair." Honestly, I don't know why they bother...they could just run an old "America's Home Video" show-thing, and get just as good ratings. It's really hard to believe that networks actually spend time and money to determine what goes on the air. Most the crap on the networks are so stupid, I always thought they just filled in half hour slots with the cheapest-least expensive show they could find. Then I saw a special on E!, and it turns out they pay people to think about this stuff...it's kinda sad. And that's the big score: 8 good predictions, 1 bad prediction. It just goes to show, you can predict whether most shows suck or not by just looking at the premise behind the series. This saves a bunch of time. While I'm on the subject of T.V. What's up with that Pontiac commercial? They offer to give someone a Pontiac for a week and the idiots act as if all their dreams would come true. If only they had a Pontiac - they could visit the Grand Canyon, or San Francisco, or take that dream vacation. Hell, I don't need a car to take a vacation, I need the cash and the time. If I had a Pontiac, this is what I would do: 1) I would take it to work. 2) I would Drive it home. 3) I would go to the store on the weekend. That's pretty much it...whoopee! And now you know.
